Vinyasa Yoga

Today was my 1st Vinyasa Yoga class.  Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement". Vinyasa Yoga is very smooth and flowing. We started in one pose then added another...then back to the beginning then added another pose to the end..each time adding a pose until we had a complete routine. Focusing each movement on proper inhaling and exhaling.
I must say it was a workout! I for one could not do all the poses - so I did what I could do. I guess that is one of the great reasons I like YOGA of all kinds.  I am not competing with anyone in my yoga class.  I am one with myself. If a pose does not work for biggie..I do one that I can do.  My goal is to be able to do all poses..but until then.  I need to stay one with myself. Take it easy breathing correctly and stretching my muscles.

I totally recommend Vinyasa like what you can!  Make sure to bring a towel and water!  You will need the water!

With Vinyasa Yoga you will sweat..which releases toxins from your body. The breathing is fantastic for relaxing your mind and body.

Vinyasa Flow began as Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga by a Yogi named Sri Tirumala Krishnamacharya. He was given a place to teach yoga and eventually taught a young boy named Parrabhi Jois his learnings on the power of breathing. Jois then established an institute for practicing the specific form of Vinyasa yoga.

I found a video on line about Vinyasa Yoga.....check it out!

Since YOGA is my activity of choice...I will be posting a weekly post about YOGA.  Some great tips I have learned....Good Video's I have found on the internet and ways I am staying true to myself.  Eating right and being fit are so important...staying true to yourself in both mind and body is my goal.  Stop back next week for another YOGA post!
Give Vinyasa Yoga a try!  When finished I am totally relaxed...amazing how good my body feels! Not to forgot my mind!
