Tasty Whiskey Apple Butter!
10 apples peeled and cored...chopped
1 c sugar
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teas nutmeg
1/2 cup whiskey- any kind (I use Makers Mark and Dawn uses Ole Smoky Apple Pie Moonshine)
Place all ingredients in a crock-pot. Cook 12 hours in the crock-pot on high.
Stirring every 3 hours ... The last hour cook uncovered in the crock-pot to help thicken also stir about every 15 minutes..
Place Whiskey Apple Butter in freezer containers...makes approx. 3.5 pints
This last batch I made I did not freeze - I placed in jars and gave a few jars to friends. The remaining jars I placed in the fridge.
This is all that is left....time to make a few more batches while apples are in season.
