Green Tip of the Week

Green Tip of the Week

This week I thought I would share a simple tip that I have used for years.
Many of you already know this easy cleaning tip...but some may not.
Keep your coffee marker clean with Vinegar.

If you use a pot coffee maker  - fill 1/2 of the reservoir with vinegar and the other half water.  Turn on the coffee pot  - brew half a pot then turn off. Let the coffee pot sit for about 10 minutes then turn back on. Brew until all of the vinegar water mixture is gone.  Then brew two more pots of water only.  Keeps your pot nice and clean inside.

If you own a Keurig or a single cup coffee marker...I soak my water reservoir screen with vinegar. The screen at the bottom of the water reservoir needs to be cleaned regularly.  Add about 1/2 cup of vinegar into the water reservoir.  Use your finger to push up the valve at the bottom of the water reservoir - let some of the vinegar drip out. Keep doing this until the water runs freely out of the bottom when you push on the valve.  Wash and rinse well when finished.
