Obol Bowl

I found the best bowl ever!  I the soggy cereal. The Obol Bowl is perfect to make sure your cereal stays crisp. No cereal sitting in milk long enough to get soggy.

Each morning I fill my Obol with cereal and milk.  The Obol is perfect for holding my bowl while I stand and watch the morning news. Much easier than a regular bowl.
I really like the deep sides that keep my milk in the bowl - easy to walk and eat with no mess.
Made in USA
The Obol is manufactured in the United States, where rent and labor are more expensive. I believe it is important to help keep jobs here where we live with our family and friends and you can be assured the material to be food safe. I also discovered many other uses for the Obol. Try it with crispy crackers and soup or my favorite, cookies with milk. I know you will find the Obol to be one of the most practical products in your kitchen.  It will bring you crispy bite after bite.............Michael Roberts - Inventor

Save Queen Green ~ Mother Nature's Eco-Rhymes by Angela and Marisa Vincent

Save Queen Green is a cute book with rhymes that spread the need to save our earth.   It is a very cute way to help children learn the importance of making a difference by living green.  Picking up trash, reusing items, recycling items to give them a new life, using no chemicals and being aware that we only have one earth and that it is all of our responsibilities to BE GREEN and make a difference.

Embracing the WILD in your Dog by Bryan Bailey

This Barking Wednesday I want to share with everyone a very unique book I was given the opportunity to read. If you are a DOG OWNER this is a MUST read.

 by Bryan Bailey

Some time ago, dogs became as interwoven in the American culture as baseball, apple pie and the Fourth of July. In fact, in most households, the dogs have even trumped evolution itself and jumped straight to being four legged humans where they are adorned with human names, designer outfits and fed diets that would confound even the best nutritionist. In most cases, we've granted them our human intelligence and our sacred human emotions as well. They are no longer dogs to us, they're family! Yet, for all that man has done to carve the wolf from the wild to create a surrogate human, today's dog is still a wolf at heart and the accompanying instincts borne from such ancestry defines how the dog approaches its world. The ontogeny of anthropomorphism, where we attach our human traits to our pets, is the most damaging and paralytic problem associated with dog ownership today. Believing in a fairy tale world where dogs possess the same moral consciousness and sense of altruism as attributed to humans has led to a drastic increase in leash laws, dogs being outlawed in a rising number of city and national parks, some breeds being banned in several states, an alarming escalation of aggression to humans, a rising cost in homeowner and business insurance, and a record number of clinically maladaptive dogs. This book is not a training book. It does not cover obedience topics such as heel, sit, down, stay, and come. Instead, it's about righting the ship of American dog ownership by changing our perception of our dogs. It is about the author growing up in the Alaskan wild under the tutelage and guardianship of a Special Forces survival instructor who introduced him to the ways of wolves and the similarities they shared with dogs. It is about the wisdom and splendor of nature and the many life lessons she provides. Mostly, it about developing a deep understanding of the authors of your dog's behavior; nature and the wolf. In doing so, you will truly learn who and what your dog really is and the whys and hows of its behavior. You will learn the tools that nature gave them to survive and coexist in both the mountains and in our homes. You will learn how activating and deactivating natural impulses and mechanisms in your dog will lead to the harmonious existence and the control you always dreamed of. Most of all, you will come to embrace the wild in your dog and the grace and the peace that is breathed into its acceptance.

Inexpensive Weekend Crafts for the Family

Whether it's a rainy day or you would like to do something to bring the family closer together, there are a few super Saturday crafts that don't cost a lot of money. These are crafts that children of any age can do, some with the help of a parent. When the crafts are completed, you can display them in the home or put them in a keepsakes box so that you can look back on them together with fondness.

Most children like collecting coins. Instead of buying a piggy bank, you can make one using a water bottle and a few other small items around the house. Use construction paper to make the body of the pig, gluing it around the water bottle so that it looks like the animal is standing on all four legs. The bank can be made with any color so that it's personalized for each child. Grosgrain ribbon can be used as a decoration on the pig to create hair or clothing. A slot is cut on the side of the water bottle that will be the top of the pig so that coins can be inserted. You can add facial features for the piggy with construction paper. Add 4 ¾ wooden beads for legs and viola!

Economizing On Equipment Can Never Be An Option

There are times, in some situations, when companies can "cut corners" a bit to save on expenses. When it comes to the safety of the work crew, though, economizing on equipment can never be an option.

As it relates to rigging supplies, workers lives quite literally hang in the balance. For

customers that are looking for rigging hardware, they unquestionably must look for the highest quality equipment manufactured on the market, purchased from a company that has a solid, long-standing reputation of quality, reliable service in the industry.

Customers should look for a company, like Westech Rigging Supply, that is a complete rigging fabrication center, not simply a re-seller of rigging equipment, or a company that serves as a 'middleman' between the manufacturer and customer.

The fabrication center builds high quality slings, fabricated to the customer's specifications, on a daily basis. They provide fittings, such as Quick Nub ferrules and wedge sockets, available for installation in the field. In-house fabrication specialization includes wire rope slings, wire rope splicing, wire rope swaging, synthetic rope splicing, chain slings, and spelter poured sockets.

Pull Test Services utilize state-of-the-art equipment to check the safety and reliability of chains and slings, ensuring that all tested equipment is OSHA compliant. All work performed is documented, with an identification serial number assigned to each item. A certificate documenting all testing, and any repairs that may have taken place, accompanies the serial number.

Gears are integral pieces of equipment in the rigging process, and must be maintained to the highest standards. Customers appreciate a company that will have a trained safety expert inspect their gears, either at their location, or at the company site. If defects or damage in the gears is found, companies that rebuild or replace rigging to OSHA specifications can save the customer valuable time and money, and is most certainly an attractive feature.

The highest quality rigging hardware should be available for purchase, provided by the top manufacturers in the world. Items should include hooks, hoist rings, pulling grips, shackles, latch keys, swivels, chain repair links/couplers, eye nuts, and eye bolts. Also, turnbuckles, master rings and links, manhole pins, wire rope fittings, and Crosby S-264 Pad Eyes.

Safety is the most important factor in any job. Superior equipment from a reputable company is one great way a safe work environment can be maintained, and must be every job site's number one priority.

Don't Lick the Minivan: And Other Things I Never Thought I’d Say to My Kids

As a woman used to traveling and living the high life in Bangkok, Leanne Shirtliffe recognized the constant fodder for humor while pregnant with twins in Asia’s sin city. But in spite of deep-fried bug cuisine and nurses who cover newborn bassinets with plastic wrap, Shirtliffe manages to keep her babies alive for a year with help from a Coca-Cola deliveryman, several waitresses, and a bra factory. Then she and her husband return home to the isolation of North American suburbia.

In Don’t Lick the Minivan, Shirtliffe captures the bizarre aspects of parenting in her edgy, honest voice. She explores the hazards of everyday life with children such as:

The birthday party where neighborhood kids took home skin rashes from the second-hand face paint she applied.
The time she discovered her twins carving their names into her minivan’s paint with rocks.
The funeral she officiated for “Stripper Barbie.”
The horror of glitter.
And much more!

Shirtliffe eventually realizes that even if she can’t teach her kids how to tie their shoelaces, she’s a good enough mom. At least good enough to start saving for her twins’ therapy fund. And possibly her own. Shirtliffe’s memoir might not replace a therapist, but it is a lot cheaper.

This is a fun read!!  I loved the Parenting Tips!

Parenting Tip: To save time and cleaning supplies, mop up kitchen spills with your feet, preferably while wearing socks.
OMG - I have done this a thousand times!  I know this has to be a Mom secret!

Cleaning ...............

Maintaining Cleanliness and Passing Government Inspections

As a business owner, you well know the stringent requirements expected of you by government health inspectors. Your business must be clean and safe at all times. When you want cleanliness that regular grocery store products cannot achieve, you can pass inspections by using industrial-strength cleaning products. You can click here
to get more information about the selection and purpose of each product.

Cleanliness Inside Your Building
A significant part of passing an inspection involves keeping the inside of your business sanitary. The floors must be free from spills and debris. The counters must be wiped down and free from stains and crumbs. Your kitchen equipment likewise must be as sanitary as possible.

Regular store products cannot achieve the level of cleanliness that inspectors look for when they come to your business. When you want to pass the most stringent of white glove inspections, you can buy industrial products online that will kill germs, remove stains, and keep your premises as hygienic and safe as possible.

You can click on the products link to find out more about each product for sale. It should be noted that the chemicals in the products are very strong and can be dangerous. Before you buy them, you should ensure that your janitorial staff knows how to use them. If you need coaching yourself, you can click on the name of each product to learn more about it. By learning for what purpose the cleaners are used, you can feel confident about your decision to buy your supplies online.

Exterior Cleaning
Many inspectors also look to the outside of your building to make sure it is safe as well. They may look for grease stains on the pavement, oil slick, and other spills that could cause people to fall and get hurt. These liquids also could spread diseases that can make people sick.

When you want to keep the outside of your building as clean as the inside, you can find exterior supplies online. These cleansers will make the outside premises, like the parking lot and sidewalks, safe to walk on and also sanitary. As with interior products, it is recommended that you learn how to use the exterior supplies before ordering them.

Inspections come with alarming frequency. When you want to pass a scheduled or surprise inspection, you can feel confident by purchasing cleaning items online today.

Bayer® ExpertCareTM ~ Itch Relief Shampoo ~ #BayerExpertCare ~ #sponsored

This post is sponsored by Bayer® ExpertCareTM and the BlogPaws Influencer Network. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about Bayer ExpertCare products but Green and Glassie only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. Bayer ExpertCare is not responsible for the content of this article.

As many of you know last month I decided that I was going to  review three of Bayer® ExpertCareTM shampoo products.
Moisturizing Shampoo
Itch Relief Shampoo
and
Coat Cleansing Foam
Last month I tested the Bayer ExpertCare Moisturizing Shampoo - click HERE for the link to my review.

This month I tested the Bayer ExpertCare Itch Relief Shampoo. Living in Wisconsin our winters can get very cold and the air in our home can become so dry. Often causing dry skin which causes Diesel to itch.

Check out Diesel in the tub for his review of Bayer ExpertCare Itch Relief Shampoo. The first thing I noticed and really liked about the Itch Relief Shampoo is that it is thick and stays where I put it on Diesel's back.  With thin liquid shampoos it is hard to apply the shampoo - put the top down on the bottle and set the bottle down. Itch Relief is a nice thick shampoo that stayed on Diesel giving me time to close the bottle and then start rubbing the shampoo into his fur.  I even had time to take a pic of the shampoo on his fur before I started rubbing the shampoo into his fur.

The thickness of the shampoo was nice but the smell was heavenly.
A nice calming clean smelling shampoo - not a medicine smell.

The shampoo lathers great - giving Diesel a relaxing soothing bath. Diesel loves to take a bath - he stands and lets me massage in the shampoo.

I trust Bayer ExpertCare as quality products made especially for dogs and cats. Bayer Expert products are specially formulated for cats and dogs for health and wellness.

Bayer  Expert Care products are available exclusively at PetSmart. I also like the fact that I can go to PetSmart and find a Bayer EpertCare product to help correct a issue with Diesel. Bayer ExpertCare offers a wide variety of health products for dogs & cats ~ Skin Care, Health & Wellness, and Ear Care.

Check out how great Diesel's fur looks after using Bayer Expert Care shampoo's.

Diesel is my baby and I only use the best for his care ~ the reason I choose Bayer ExpertCare products.

Diesel and I wish everyone a
Very Safe & Happy

Craft Supply Organization Tips

Whether you have a craft room or an area in your home designated for creating your masterpieces, it can easily go from being neat and organized to a creative mess in no time. The next thing you know, touches of glitter can be found on your bathroom floor and cabinet handles. If this describes your crafting experience, here are useful organizational tips that will help you get your mess in control and creative talent flowing:

Ribbon Holder
It's hard to store and organize spools of ribbon and rolls of colorful washi tape that so many crafters use for a variety of neat projects. Paint a wood bracelet holder in a vibrant color, and store your spools of ribbon and tape on the dowels of it for a pretty yet functional storage option.

Shower Caddy
Transform a wall-mount shower caddy into a craft storage center. You can store instructional books, sewing patterns, cards and envelopes on the shelves, and hang scissors, ribbon and other tools down below.

Embroidery Floss
For those who use embroidery floss for crafting, know how easily it can become a tangled mess resembling a bird's nest. Wrap each strand of embroidery floss around a clothespin, and put the end of it securely under the bottom part of the clothespin that automatically snaps closed.

Printer Trays
You can often find printer trays at flea markets and thrift stores. Printer trays are ideal for organizing craft supplies including ribbon, scrap booking supplies and beads. You can place your trays across your crafting table or on shelves next to your working area for easy access.

Color Block Pegboards
Brighten up your work space with a couple of pieces of pegboard painted in bold colors that can also be used as storage. Hang them side by side on one of the walls in your crafting area. You can hang small storage racks, scissors and a variety of craft supplies from hooks placed in the holes of the pegboard pieces.

Standing Shoe Cubby
Paint a standing shoe cubby in a vibrant color that coordinates with your crafting area. In some of the compartments, you can also place decorative baskets and boxes. You can store a sewing machine or other crafting devices on top of your standing shoe unit. You can store everything from scrapbook paper to fabric and a glue gun to other crafting necessities in the baskets and compartments of the standing shoe organizer.

Bathroom Accessories
Turn lovely bathroom accessories into crafty storage. Use a pretty toothbrush holder for storing markers, small paint brushes and pencils and a soap dish for little things like buttons, beads and business cards. Vintage Teacups

Teacups make unique and pretty little storage solutions for jewelry makers or any crafter who uses small parts to make their creations. Tape your vintage teacups to the bottom of a shelf or drawer to keep them from tipping over or sliding around.

These helpful and creative organizing tips will help you keep your crafting area organized, pretty and supplies easily accessible for the utmost productivity.
