ALMOST PERFECT by Julie Ortolon

Maddy, Christine, and Amy, friends since college, are thrilled to learn their old suitemate's self-help book, How to Have a Perfect Life, has become a smashing bestseller - until they realize she used them as negative examples of how women let fear mess up their lives. The worst part is...it's sort of true. So, the three friends make a pact: They each have one year to face down their fears - and prove Miss Perfect wrong!

A free spirited artist - Maddy was always the artistic one of the group, full of life from her saucy red curls to her vintage hippie skirts. Her challenge, the friends decide, is to get her artwork accepted at a gallery. A job as arts director at a summer camp near Santa Fe - with its thriving art scene - seems like just the thing.
There's just one catch: The camp is run by Maddy's high school flame, Joe, whose heart she smashed when she chose her art over marriage to him. His anger over the breakup hasn't cooled one bit. But neither has their attraction. Old desires burn hotter than ever as Joe makes it clear there's only one way back into his heart: She has to get serious about the art career she once valued above all else. But will falling in love help or hinder Maddy as she struggles to meet her challenge?
REVIEW
Almost Perfect the audible version. This is book One of the Perfect Trilogy Series by Julie Ortolon.

Almost Perfect is based on How to Live A Perfect Life. A Perfect Life something I think everyone is searching for.  The book starts with three friends  Amy, Christine & Maddy. Each deciding how they will tackle their goal to live a Perfect Life. Almost Perfect will take you on Maddy's  wild emotional journey how she searches for her Perfect Life.

Julie did an excellent job of expressing how the characters deepest desires, emotions, and desires about living the perfect life.  I totally agree with her how Life & Love are like a Amusement Park - some days you ride the carousal and other days you are on the roller-coaster. Julie's description of Life & Love was one of the best descriptions I have ever heard - marriage and love are hard. But worth every minute of the struggle! After 37 years of marriage I still get butterflies on Date Night. I can not imagine living a life without that kind of love. Matty is searching for mind blowing love - check it out to see if she finds it!

I enjoyed this book so much I listened to Book Two in the series Just Perfect. Now I am listening to Too Perfect - the final book  in the series. I definitely am now a fan of Julie Ortolon. Make sure to follow her on Facebook ~ I just downloaded her book Falling For You that is FREE on AMAZON! She posted the FREE Book link on her Facebook page.

To make purchasing audible books easier I joined Amazon's Audible Book Club - a book a month for a small monthly membership fee. That is how I was able to get Book Two ~ Just Perfect & Book Three ~ Too Perfect at a very reasonable price.

What are your thoughts? Can a life ever be perfect?

  21. I kinda like the whole college best friend theme. The trying to be perfect theme could be interesting if done correctly. I appreciate your honest review.

  22. These sound like great books. And I don't think life can be perfect.

  23. Life is never perfect, but you can always paint a realistic perfect picture. A few of us have challenged ourselves to meet certain goals this year. This may be a good book to read for us all.

  24. Perfection is relative. As long as you know that perfection comes with bumps and bruises, I think you can. If your main needs and desires are genuinely met (love, laughter, whatever yours are) then life can seem pretty perfect, even when it isn't exactly.
