Review:
I felt  The Metabolism Solution was a very good book to help understand why and how to lose weight. I liked the fact that Lisa understands what it is like to have tried over and over to lose weight with no success.  She explained the importance of changing yourself on the inside to make a huge difference on the outside. In the book she has numerous recipes to help make losing weight easier.
Her Melt Fat Minestrone Soup has turned into a staple at my house. The soup packed full of veggies is absolutely delicious. I make a pot of soup then freeze into individual servings. Reading the book I have learned that one of my biggest down falls is portion size. Before I started focusing on portion size I am positive I was eating 4 to 5 portions per meal. Learning to read labels and only having one portion is key to my healthy journey.  A journey that will turn into a lifestyle.  So if you are like me and have been on the weight roller coaster for years...you cannot afford to not read The Metabolism Solution. You will read some excellent advice - plus you will also have access to some amazing recipes - 57 pages of recipes to help you live a healthy lifestyle. 
I thought I would share the Melt Fat Minestrone Soup Recipe - give it a try you will be hooked!


Melt Fat Minestrone Soup
Spray Olive Oil                    1/4 head cabbage - shredded      2 cups water
1/4 pound green beans cut into 1 inch pieces       2 cups of fat free beef or veggie broth
3 small zucchini                   1 garlic clove  chopped          3 stalks celery - diced
1 small can of tomato paste     3 carrots sliced      1 small can of kidney beans
1 cup of onions

Spray pan with olive oil spray and saute onions, garlic, celery, cabbage, carrots, and green beans until wilted.
Add tomato paste, beef/veggie broth, and water - simmer for 20 minute or until cooked
Add zucchini and cook for 5 to 20 minutes
Serve topped with a dash of Parmesan cheese
You can substitute yellow squash or spinach for the cabbage.

Author Interview with Lisa Lynn
1.Tell us about the inspiration behind your new book.
I wrote this book to bring hope to all who are struggling to lose weight and have lost hope. I have been there and know first-hand how horrible it feels to wake up every day hating your body and yourself which translates to our entire life. I pray that anyone who reads it finds peace inside and out. I believe it’s our obligation to share gifts we have received and I live to give the gift away!  I specifically chose to self-publish so I could share the truth about losing weight vs what advertisers want us to believe.

2. What makes you different than all of the other trainers and nutritionists out there?
For starters, I'm a female and women have very different metabolic needs compared to men, so I don't feel that men can help us as effectively as women because they don't "get it" UNLESS they have struggled themselves and even then, women need less calories than men. If we just work out harder, we can actually make matters worse and further damage our slow metabolisms BUT men can train hard, and it’s not quite as stressful on their bodies, so it helps them lose weight but causes us to gain weight and crave more! I also know what it’s like with an Oreo cookie! I am a food addict and I think it helps me to understand where my clients are coming from. I specifically chose to focus my career on metabolism vs general nutrition and most nutritionists only know general nutrition and the two are VERY different! Most people think if they simply eat healthy they will lose weight and this couldn't be further from the truth!

3. What’s the one thing you want everyone to know that you couldn't stress enough in the book?
I want everyone to know that anyone can lose weight following this plan no matter how slow their metabolism is or how old they are. There isn't one reason you wouldn't lose weight on this program EXCEPT if you don’t do what you’re supposed to do. The hard part is letting go of old habits that keep us stuck! I also want people to know that you DO NOT have to work out or kill yourself in the gym, BUT you do have to move daily with NO GYM required! Walking can work wonders for weight loss! 

4. How did you end up on Martha’s TV Show?
One day one of her scheduled guests didn't show up and they came to get me to fill in. I hate cameras so I especially hate doing TV work but ratings soared and her viewers loved our chemistry together and the next thing I knew, I was on regularly and what I didn't know was that I was being taught invaluable lessons from one of the best in the industry! Martha is amazing at what she does and is more talented than people know!

5. Did you plan on a TV career and how did you end up on The DR OZ show  as well as countless others across the United States?
NO WAY did I ever imagine I would be doing as much TV as I am now. It was the furthest thing from my mind. However, I have learned that GOD has our futures mapped out already and he takes us where we belong, so everything happens for a reason. When I went crying to my spiritual mentor asking what I should do, he said if you really like to help people why settle for a one-to-one when you can reach millions at once? That is what I live by on days that I don’t want to get up and do TV. I want to reach people who are suffering the most!

6. Did you dream of writing a book when you were a child?
Never even thought of writing a book. GOD works in mysterious ways. I still wonder who they are talking about when they introduce me on TV as an "AUTHOR"! Writing this book was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life!  I hate sitting still. I prefer to be on the gym floor helping people. 

7. What is your favorite charity and why?
I love the Melanoma Research at Yale because melanoma is one of the deadliest forms of skin cancer and if researchers can stomp out melanoma it will directly affect all other cancers in a positive way. Melanoma research is not only near and dear to me, it also doesn't get as much attention as breast or pancreatic cancer yet it's even more worthy when it comes to finding a cure. Stomp out melanoma and we will stomp out other cancers as well!

8.  Do you write every day?
I am shocked to say I love writing every day and I miss it if I don't write! I write all of my own TV segments and there is always something to write. I think I'll be writing for the rest of my life.

9.  What’s your biggest obstacle that you had to overcome?
My biggest obstacle was trying to get my family to understand that if I'm writing they shouldn't disturb me, especially when I'm on a roll. Sometimes you can't get back on track so it was critical for me not to be disturbed, and of course sitting still! I wrote most of my book while doing cardio from my iPhone so I could stay in shape!

10.  What can fans expect next?  Is there another book in the works?
LOL fans...I’m as normal as your neighbor, I promise! I still do my own grocery shopping, clean my house and struggle to get up and work out every day, BUT anyone who needs help can count on me being available to help them anytime. I will continue to research and find new ways to boost the most sluggish metabolisms and, of course, I am already working on my next book that will help families and teens as well as Cancer Survivors as I am a survivor myself.

  2. I'm post bariatric patient and have been stuck at the same weight. Recently the Dr. changed my meds and I have started to gain a couple lbs after several yrs of staying the same. I need to change my diet even further and figure out more healthier ways to continue to stay the weight I am and start to gradually lose a few more lbs to be into my safety zone!

  3. I want to win this book because I've hit a standstill with my weight loss journey. I have those last ten pounds to get off and I'm eating healthy and clean but I'm having problems figuring out what to eat that will work to help curb cravings and satisfy my bodies needs.
