Barking Wednesday ~ Fenced in Deck

This Barking Wednesday I wanted to share with you a project we completed last week. Diesel runs out the back door so fast - we were worried he would run out of the yard before we could catch him. To prevent that from happening my hubby and I fenced in our back deck and added a swinging gate.

We purchased the wire & gate from Menards & Home Depot store. My hubby used staples to attach the fencing to the deck boards. He has a air stapler which made the stapling much easier.
Now we can open the back door and not worry about Diesel. The deck is also a great place for Diesel to enjoy the lovely weather in a very safe environment. No dogs can come on the deck. Since Diesel is small - having a safe area for him is very important to us. We don't have stray dogs in our area - but we want to be sure he is safe.

He loves to lay in the warm sun and relax. This is a special treat for us - Diesel is a 4 month old Smooth Fox Terrier that is full of energy! Anytime we can get him to relax is a WIN! WIN!

Wire ~ Home Depot   $70
Gate ~ Menards  $25

For less than $100 we now have a very safe environment for Diesel.

  1. This is a smart idea. Little pets can easy get out and get hurt. They are so quick to run. Now you can all enjoy time on your lovely deck.

  2. This looks like a beautiful space that will now allow you to enjoy your backyard, but also be worry free that your precious pup won't escape. I just love the weeping willow and flowering tree you get to enjoy!
