My Town ~ Camp Lake, Wisconsin

I live in a very rural area in southeastern Wisconsin. The community I live in is named Camp Lake - a unincorporated town located on Center Lake. Our small town consist of a auto repair shop, restaurant, post office, beauty shop, grocery store and a bar.

The town Camp Lake is located between Camp Lake and Center Lake.

Camp Lake is so small we do not even have home mail delivery. Loretta is our post master - she is 81 and has been at the office for years. Our post office is open Monday - Friday 8am - Noon and on Saturdays from 11am to Noon.

I live on Center Lake - the Ice Lake. In the late 1800's and early 1900's Center Lake supplied Chicago with ice used to keep their refrigerators cold. Center Lake is spring fed - the water is crystal clear. To ensure that the lake stays clean 35 years ago a group of residents formed the Center Lake/Camp Lake Lake District CCLD. I am proud to say that my hubby and I were part of the original group that felt the need to keep the area clean for the future. Now CCLD is the oldest lake district in the state of Wisconsin.

One of the BEST thing our small community has to offer is our Lakes! Center and Camp Lake are beautiful! They both are clean lakes due to CCLD.  Not to mention unlimited water sports and fishing are right in our back yard. My kids and grandkids enjoy the many wonders of living on a lake and the peacefulness of living in a small community.

A few years ago these babies decided to call our backyard a rest stop.
Also the beavers that live right down the road.

Our family has grown up in Camp Lake, Wisconsin.

We moved into our home in December 1978
We raised two children - Jason & Dawn

We have traveled the Ups and Downs of Life each day resting in the place we call HOME!
Life is Good!
